#WhatDrivesYou: Amanda Lindsay on Her Passion for Skin Care
March 31, 2015
We recently got up close and personal with Dermalogica Skin Care Therapist, Amanda Lindsay, to reveal her favourite skin care products and what she is most passionate about. If you've ever experienced Amanda's incredible talent, the one word to sum it up would be - GIFTED. We’re taking donations to have her hands insured. Any takers?

Motto to live by:
Bit of a cliché but I believe in a balance of working and living. The world is here for us to explore and having a great job helps me to support my love of travelling.
What do you love most about what you do?
You can’t beat getting those “ah ha” moments that you experience with your clients. Knowing you are making them understand their skin inside and out and giving them tools as well as advice which can create healthy skin habits is a great feeling.
Any tips for young skin care therapists out there?
Get as much education as you can and continue to do so throughout your career. This industry is constantly evolving, keep on top of it.
What are you passionate about?
Professionally - Seeing/hearing success stories about the results my clients are achieving with their skin care goals, it’s an incredible feeling.
Personally – achieving a lifelong goal of purchasing a cottage with my husband, later this year.
What motivates you?
The idea of my future motivates me. Being a part of the second largest growing industry in the world which is heavily dominated by powerful and inspirational women continues to motivate me and, no doubt, will shape my career for years to come.
What is your skin care staple right now?
I can’t get enough of Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque, its saving my skin in this brutal weather. Another favourite is Ultra Sensitive Tint SPF30, it has a thicker consistency and soothes my skin on my walk to work.
What excites you about your job?
The people I meet! I honestly think I have the best clients I’ve ever had in 15 years. I love the mix of women and men, from teenagers to baby boomers, from actors to bloggers. Although, my all-time favourites are newbies! I love it when people choose to come to me for their first-ever skin treatment.
What is the best advice that someone has ever given you? Did you follow it?
My sister taught me to never mark yourself 10/10. There is always room for improvement. It’s easy to think 'well I’ve been doing this for 15 years, I know everything!' Trust me, if you think like this, you will get left behind! Education is the key to standing out and building your confidence. With this, you’ll be ready to handle anything this career throws at you.
