The Official FPR Power Ball Re-Cap

June 19, 2012

A highlight of the Toronto party scene is the annual POWER BALL fundraiser in support of Toronto’s Power Plant Gallery.

This year Toronto’s finest from the art, fashion and entertainment communities embraced the reckless and free-spirited age of 25 for the party’s theme “Quarter-Life Crisis,” which celebrated the contemporary art gallery’s 25th anniversary.

Donning their favourite frocks and dapper suits guests roamed through cavernous rooms filled with art installations from the likes of local artist Philippe Blanchard’s trippy neon animated cones to Sarah Febbraro’s mock talk-show on how to manage your own quarter-life crisis, listened to music spun by LA-based Alex Merrell and local-favourite Brendan Fallis, and had their pics snapped in the Photostar.com photobooth.

Hungry guests indulged like they still had the metabolism of a 25-year old on treats from Mark Thuet, including a bison on a spit (check out our slightly devilish pint-sized party-goer chowing down on a bison leg almost as big as her!), mini mac n’ cheeses, and the crowd-pleasing poutine.

The good news? All calories consumed were burned off by late night dancing.

We are already counting down the days till Power Ball 15.
