Kindness Takes Flight with EQ3's 1,000 Acts of Kindness Campaign

August 29, 2013

There is power in kindness. EQ3, in conjunction with Marimekko North America, is taking part in a global art installation project under the umbrella of the World Karma Project. This delightful initiative is fuelled by compassion and that nice feeling you get when doing good things for others.

“1,000 Acts of Kindness uses cranes to inspire us to create a ripple effect, making the world a better place one act of kindness at a time. Legend has it that cranes can live up to 1,000 years old. As a messenger of Buddha, they bring dreams and wishes to the people; with powerful wings, they carry people to higher levels of spiritual enlightenment. Once paired, cranes mate for life.”

The 1,000 Acts of Kindness Campaign launched in EQ3 Shop-in-Shops August 16th in Toronto, Emeryville, Calgary, Ottawa, Montreal and Brossard and runs until September 8th. Guests at EQ3 are invited to write an act of kindness on a crane to add to the growing flock of delicate origami birds and are to perform their act within 48 hours.

The aim of EQ3’s 1,000 Acts of Kindness Campaign is to encourage everyone to take an active role in creating a more peaceful, kinder community and, in turn, a better world. We feel inspired to do nice things for others and believe kindness is contagious! What would your Act of Kindness be?
