#FEvents DXI: RISE UP!
October 14, 2014
On November 7th celebrate the most effervescent design affair of the year as Design Exchange (DX) salutes Frank Toskan, co-founder of M.A.C cosmetics for its annual fundraiser, DX INTERSECTION (DXI) RISE UP! In tune with Chanel’s SS15 mock protest feminist show and inspired by the museum’s POLITICS OF FASHION | FASHION OF POLITICS exhibition, DXI embraces positive protest culture by hailing the power of community, activism and creativity.
M.A.C Cosmetics takes over the historic Trading Floor to present a battle of top Toronto and New York voguers! Show up & show out!
With creative direction by Rui Amaral, DX invites you to immerse yourself in an environment transformed by installations from design studio Castor Design and artists Barr Gilmore, Jeremy Jansen and Jesse Harris. Enjoy MuchMusic speakers corner inspired activations, culinary delights by Parts & Labour Catering’s chef Matty Matheson and music by DJ Diego Armand, plus more special guests.
Enter to win incredible raffle prizes. Plus, get the chance to take home vintage and rare items by Jean Paul Gaultier, Vivienne Westwood, Comme Des Garcons and more at the silent auction (preview items here!).
DXI Committee Co-chairs: Rana Florida + Victoria Webster
Dress code: From hippie and drag to punk and power suits – rise up, dress down!
