CF's Desk: Summer Reads for the Long Weekend

Winding-Down when Summer Winds-Up
Summer in the city is hot, busy and loud. Trying to escape the constant influx of information, trends and gossip can be exhausting. I’ve found the perfect quick summer read to help you wind down. The July/August publication of The Walrus provides just the thing. Three celebrated Canadian authors revisit their renowned characters and stories including: Heather O’Neill’s Lullabies for Little Criminals, Joseph Boyden’s Three Day Road, and Margaret Atwood’s The Robber Bride.
These short stories breathe life back into the original narratives; they allowed me to relive loved characters and could inspire you to introduce yourselves to these adored Canadian authors. These short stories are only available at The Walrus and are the perfect length of read between swimming, BBQing, entertaining and whatever other fast paced summer activity you can get up to.
Happy Canada Day!
