5 Things: How to have a productive snow day
February 8, 2013
The coveted snow day is fabulous because we can have our Dermalogica Hydrating face masque on while answering e-mails and chatting with clients. Snow days finally give us some time for ourselves, whether it is to organize our closets and minds or if it is to catch up on social media or the last season of The Walking Dead. Here are some tips on how to use your snow day productively:
Start a Wardrobe Diet
Diets can be tough but this type of diet is more realistic and can actually be fun (especially when you find that leather skirt you thought you misplaced). The first step is to get rid of all the clothing you don’t need, this is what we call the healthy purge. By cleaning out your closet you will have space for new items that you actually need and will wear. Shopping spree this weekend?
Not only do you get to answer emails and hangout in your underwear all day but you can also treat yourself. In between Skype meetings how about lathering yourself up in Dermalogica Stress Relief Treatment Oil, it is an aromatic body treatment oil to massage all over your body and can be used for bath therapy for deluxe skin conditioning! Then jump into a hot bath with Dermalogica Hydro Active Mineral Salts. A neat trick is to mix the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant in with your oil for the ultimate smoothing combo.
The beauty of being home is that you are already in your ‘comfy’ clothes. Take 5 minutes from your work and stretch it all out. Without the office white noises (email, fax, printer etc)and after a calming bath you might even feel relaxed enough to find a few minutes of meditation.
Stay in the Loop
Make sure you don’t fall behind just because you have a day out of the office. Utilize all your social media outlets to stay on top and up to date (especially during the start of NYFW!). This is the perfect time to catch up on all those recipe, fashion, and home decor blogs, as well as update your own. Keep your twitter feed open and think of some innovative ways to loop in your clients and friends to some new trends. How about signing up for a Vine account and testing it out? Vine is a hybrid between Twitter, Instagram and video.
Or discovering your new favourite iPhone ap? We just found The Eatery, which helps you watch what you eat by literally “watching” what you eat. An ap for visual learners to snap photos of their food to help track eating habits.
and most importantly don’t forget to stay warm!
